LO4: Distinction report

The post production techniques used while compiling my photos for my print product created purpose and meaning. One way i achieved this was through the use of colour correction and the enhancement of the hues and saturation of the images. I did this in order to make the images brighter to make it seem more appealing. This links to Rick Altman's 1999 theory of generic pleasures which states that the audience can feel different types of pleasure from interacting with a media product. There are three responses they could have. These three are either emotional, intellectual or visceral. an emotional response would be something that makes the viewer feel a certain emotion such as happiness or sadness. an intellectual reaction would come from something that makes them think, something clever that they wouldn't necessarily think of on their own. LO3: Merit report

In order to follow the codes and conventions of a print product, specifically a poster and leaflet, i started by making sure i had a consistent house style across both of my products. I did this by deciding what colours and fonts i would use so i would be able to use them on both my leaflet and poster. Before i did this, in order to get some ideas, i looked at some examples of other leaflets and posters. This helped me get some ideas for things such as layout and font types. This links to the theory of repetition and difference by steve neale which states that while some elements change, others must remain the same to ensure that it is recognisable whilst also making sure that it isn't predictable to allow it to remain interesting for that audience.
